Being the Bigger Person 

One of the best ways to complete is not trying to die with the most toys, see who can get the most likes, grow the biggest pile of money, or amass the most fame or name recognition, but by just choosing to be the bigger person. Letting the other person get the glory, win the argument or game, accepting the supporting role in the play, these are a few things we can do to be the bigger person.

When I saw the attached picture quote today, I knew I had found my inspiration for the encouraging word. We used to say at the beginning of competitions, “May the best man win.” Often the best man is a woman, hence many wise men refer to their wives as their better halves. The joke between the two ladies in today’s picture quote aside, too often the bigger better person is not the one at the head of the table, but the one in the shadows leading the chorus, “For she/he is a jolly good fellow, that nobody can deny.”
