What Is Your Story?

We all have a story to tell. We tell stories to our children to help them to sleep at night and we feed them on our dreams hoping that they will have sweet dreams and learn to speak and to write their own stories. We, even the most macho among us, love a good love story.

Nicolas Sparks writes great and compelling love stories. One of his earliest and most famous is The Notebook which was made into a movie some years ago. The story describes the power of a love story to open doors that the doctors and nurses thought were forever closed. Admittedly the Hollywood ending to the story is a bit over the top. Unlike Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers in Romeo and Juliet few of us get to go together on the buddy plan. Alas, in most cases one of us must linger longer awaiting our release to be united later with our departed loved ones.

I believe in happy endings. I take comfort especially in times of trouble and mourning that even these are just sure signs that our story is not over yet. My loving and infinite source and yours always saves the best for last.
