Everything
Ole Job knew something many of us try hard to deny and so he could say with confidence of his loving and infinite source, “Though he slay me yet will I trust him.” We are all it seems like our sports heroes ever ready to give thanks for the triumphs that come our way but what of the hard lessons learned, the defeats? The Apostle Paul said that he had learned to give thanks in all things, for everything.
We have so much to be glad and grateful for, everything really. There is no sunshine without rain, there is no joy without pain. One of the most joyous occasions in life is the birth of a child but the pangs of child birth are beyond this puny man’s perception. I have known the pain of betrayal, the depths of despair, and rejection. I have also experienced the flip side of all of those things as well. I have come to believe that all things, everything is mine to experience, to know, and to embrace. How great and wonderful it is to know that everything that I could ever need or want is already mine and coming to me at just the right time and in just the right way from my loving and infinite source.
For everything I am exceedingly grateful most especially for you.
Your friend and fellow traveler,
