Enough

The true definition of rich is enough. For that reason many who have far more silver, gold, and cash do not consider themselves rich for it is never enough. The reason they hunger for more is that all the possessions in the world cannot satisfy the heart and mind that longs to be loved.

Someone has said the surest way to get everything you want is to be satisfied with what you have. I pose a question for my readers consideration. If we do not love ourselves how can we expect anyone else to love us? Christians and other religious people as well teach that divine love is the answer to all we need. If that were so how come Adam still felt alone and the Creator thought it necessary to take a rib and give it back to him? Sorry about posing yet another question.

Paul in his eloquent and poetic description of Christ’s relationship to his bride, the church, says a man’s love for his bride is really just loving himself, recognizing that his bride is his own body.

A little heart-shaped medallion that I carry in my pocket with my change to remind me of true riches reads on one side, “Thank you for this day, Spirit.” And on the other side, “I am happy, I am whole.” That is enough.
