Do You Believe In Magic?
Jesus once said to a bunch of Sadducees and Pharisees, the religious folk of his day, who thought that they had everything figured out, “You must become as this little child.” Children see magic because they look for it. What is left when the magic is gone? Precious little, is the answer to that mostly rhetorical question.
Given the choice between being a child pretending to be an adult or an adult pretending to be a child I would choose the later because I believe in magic. One of my all time favorite duets is from the movie musical Showboat where a riverboat gambler is singing to his daughter whom he has just met for the first time a song that he once sang with her mother, “Only Make Believe.”
There is a bit of magic in that song. Do you believe in magic?
