Focus On What We Want Not What We Don’t

Or in other words, “May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in my sight, O Lord, my strength, my rock, and my redeemer.” Jesus once received a request for a miracle and replied, “May it be unto you according to your words.” Our words are our thoughts and desires expressed. We should take care to choose the good ones. People claim to believe many things, but our words express our true faith.

Today’s picture quote says in a nutshell what is for so many of us our greatest addiction and failure – talking about what we don’t want instead of what we do want. Want blessings, satisfying relationships, health, wealth, and happiness? Think and talk about these things. It is said of the Great Creator that He/She spoke everything into existence. So do we. If all we ever talk about is sickness, wars, and rumors of wars, is it any wonder that what we see all around us is more of the same?

Break the habit, break the cycle, look for the good in everyone, everything, every situation, even yourself and talk that up. Let every word you utter be an encouraging word and even your enemies will call you blessed. The truth is, we have no enemies only family whose addictions and our own keep us from seeing the best in them and ourselves.
