On Dreaming
In the opening scene in the first Muppet movie, Kermit the Frog is singing one of my favorite songs, The Rainbow Connection: “Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection, the lovers, the dreamers, and me.” We are connected and the artist in each of us is both producing and appreciating the dreams we create together.
Whether our medium is clay, stone, word, song, or dance, we lovers and dreamers are weaving our dreams and making them come true all around us. Artist take risks sharing their dreams, risks many seem unwilling to take, but that’s why they need us.
Beauty, they say, is in the eye of the beholder. I submit to you that we are connected in and by our dreams. What else is there to say on this subject, but “Sweet Dreams.”
