The Choice That Is No Choice Really
One of my favorite short poems is:
“He drew a circle
That left me out,
A heretic, a thing to flout,
But love and I with the will to win,
We drew a circle that took him in.”
There is really only one circle and it is the Universe that is and contains all things. The sooner we realize that we are all in this thing together, that we are One, the healthier, happier, and more whole we will realize that we are and have always been.
In the Jodie Foster movie Contact, her character as a young girl asks her dad if he believes that there is life on other planets in the vast Universe and her dad answers, “If there is not, it seems like a terrible waste of space.”
A young Carol King wrote and sang, “You’re so far away, doesn’t anybody stay in one place anymore.” Time and space are relative. We are indeed, all in this thing together.
