Hope Springs Eternal
In the 1998 movie, City of Angels, the angels all gather at daybreak to watch the sunrise. This morning the birds awoke me singing in anticipation of that blessed (happy) event. Comedian Bob Hope used to rather self-servingly remark, “You gotta have Hope.” But, I believe ole Bob nailed that one. The poet wrote, “Now abide faith, hope, and love but the greatest of these is love.” Love, may indeed be the greatest of the three but faith and hope are still pretty important too in keeping life in perspective. In another place faith is defined as “The evidence of things hoped for.”
I think another sunrise brings us hope of a better more beautiful day. There are invisible forces, angels if you will, always at play to bring about the best outcomes for each of us. Oh, granted on those especially dark cloudy days and nights it may not seem so, but the sun also rises even when the clouds may seem to obscure its glory. Hope springs eternal and a host of angels is ever there to witness the daily symbol of the promise, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
