The Encouraging Word

In the beginning was the (encouraging) word and the one true and loving voice and then we chose to listen to another voice, a louder voice suggesting conspiracy that gave way to many confusing voices. The discouraging words came to vastly outnumber the encouraging ones and the one true and loving voice was all but drowned out by the constant roar and ringing in our ears of the many voices. The encouraging word has not changed, it is, “Be Still and Know.” Know what you ask. Why, Who and Whose you truly are and have always been of course.

For almost seven years now I have endeavored daily to bring you to the best of my ability some new angle on the encouraging word. How many more days I have to pursue this self assigned task I do not know nor does any of us. But, I set myself the goal of ten thousand blogs thinking than any activity engaged in ten thousand times might make one quite expert. I have some ways to go toward expert status, but if practice makes perfect I am improving and that is a good thing.

I begin each morning with a little quiet time listening for that still small voice. I can only share what I have heard and it is this, “You are loved more than you know. Eye has not seen, ear has not heard neither has it entered into the heart of man all the things the great I Am has prepared for his/her beloved.”

Have a great day for this is the day that the Lord and I have made and we will rejoice in it.
