Just A Little Change
We live in a very divided time when compromise has become a dirty word and where people on both sides have stopped listening, believing the opposing side to be an utterly evil and unredeemable enemy. What could possibly change this situation and keep us from Civil War everywhere?
Though we may try hard not to believe ego’s lie, “Lord knows, I can’t change,” nevertheless so many of us have bought in to it. And as the above purple passion quote says, life is continually putting us in situations where we realize that we need a little change.
I no longer believe that there is a literal burning hell awaiting for even those most resolute against change, those who most adamantly refuse to change. The old clarion call, “Repent” is a call to change directions, to do an about face, to change our hearts and minds. No one else, divine, human, or both as I believe us all to be, can change us. Only we have the power and the ability to do that.
Just how do we change? It is not magic nor so complicated that it requires years of training. “Change your mind and the rest will follow.” We all want to be loved and accepted just as we are and resist with all our mights anyone else’s attempts to force us to change our ways. The only true and lasting changes we ever make are because we want to.
If you had a magic wand and could change anything about your situation what would it be? As the picture quote for today says, “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” A better more loving and beautiful world always begins with “Just a little change, small to say the least…”

Beauty and the Beast

This is the little change of heart and mind alone that can prevent and forever silence the drum beats of war. Better we should dance to that heart beat within us all than allow hate to turn it into a John Philip Sousa military march to war.
