“Every Little Breeze…”
“…Seems to whisper Louise, birds in the trees seem to whisper Louise.” Louise is not as popular a name for pretty ladies as it once was. Three ladies come to mind when I think of Louise – Louise Hay, a wonderful author of self help books, that I never got to meet before she passed, a beautiful French/American woman, G. Louise, dear friend of my wife, Linda, and mine as well for the years I knew her, also gone from this stage, and Tina Louise who played the actress stranded with the others on Gilligan’s Island. “Renown warrior” is the meaning of the lady’s name of German origin, Louise.
And all three Louise(s) that I refer to above certainly have lived up to that name and fought the”good fight.” The Apostle Paul toward the end of his life used those words “fought the good fight” in a letter to friends that many others have also read – “I have fought the good fight, finished my course, henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness.” We all want to believe that we have done most things right and deserve at least a pat on the back for that. I do not believe that is how it works at all – pass/fail, heaven/hell, but more like many online educational course exams you just keep doing it over and over till you get a certain percentage right, not perfect just mostly right. And who is the judge of that, Big Daddy, the Spook, and J.C.? Not at all, really, but the truly big three, “I, Myself, and Me.”
Do you feel it in the breeze, Louise, you are the only judge of how well you live this life and the idea of any punishment for perceived performance failures is coming from you and any do-overs your choice, and yours alone.
Relax, “roll with it, Baby.” Enjoy each go round better than the last and remember that you came here to enjoy the ride again and that can get off this merry-go-round anytime you like. Let every breeze remind you as did Louise that you are here to learn to love yourself all over again and that all those pretty faces you see are just reflections of you.
Your friend and fellow traveler,
