A Thankful Day, Week, Month, Year, Life

We have so very much to be grateful for, to be thankful for. I am thinking of the famous bed-time song: “When I’m worried and I can’t sleep, I count my blessings instead of sheep, and I fall asleep counting my blessing.” I like the quote in today’s picture – “I opened two gifts this morning they were my eyes.” Want to open two other really important gifts that are yours also every day? Try opening up your heart and your mind.

This Thursday my sixty-eighth birthday falls on Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving Day has always been my favorite holiday even more that my birthday, more even more than Jesus’ birthday, Christmas. Elvis Presley sang, “Why can’t every day be like Christmas.” I say why can’t every day be like Thanksgiving. We have so very much to be grateful for and to be thankful for that one day is not enough, neither one week, one month, one year, not even one lifetime. It would take in my humble estimation an eternity of lifetimes to show our eternal gratitude for just who and whose we are.

Wherever you are reading this I hope you will take a moment, this moment, for there is no time like the present, to give thanks. Do it now and often throughout the day, everyday hence forth and even ever more, that love has found you and will never ever let you go.

Evermore

The beast in Disney’s last incarnation of the Beauty And The Beast story sings this song called Evermore and I cannot hear it or sing it without being grateful for love in my life and everyone including myself who allows themself to be a channel through which love flows out into this wonderful world. Two of the most encouraging words every written, sung, or uttered are: “Thank You.” And I say them to you and to all as the most holy prayer.

Your friend and fellow traveler,

David White
