May the Best Man (Woman) Win

Today is the long awaited Mid-Term elections in the United States. People in a more civil and less polarized time used to say, “May the best man win.”  And of course many of us wiser men realize that the best man is usually a woman. Gina Hinojosa is running for Governor of Texas against the incumbent Republican Greg Abbott. I hope the better woman wins. There are so many races to watch and of course control of the House and Senate are in the balance.

President Trump has traveled far and wide telling people to vote like he is on the ballot and I sure hope the people listen. This is our chance to “stop the madness.” What he will do when overwhelming disapproval of his Presidency is expressed today remains to be seen. He still refuses to admit that he lost to Biden in 2020 and we all know that he incited an angry mob to attack the Capitol and try to prevent the Electoral vote tally that officially made Biden President.

I hope the numbers are so great that his claims of election fraud will fall on deaf ears. Actually I hope the Blue Wave is such a tsunami that the President reads the handwriting on the wall and resigns. I am sure Vice President Vance would give him a blanket pardon for a chance to be President for two years. But, I am getting ahead of myself. Let’s count all the votes and see what the will of the people is.
