Fond Memories of Lake Winnie
Two years after the amusement park opened they added the ride that fifty years later would provide the setting for some of my fondest youthful memories.

Many a young boy and girl found their first thrill not on Blueberry Hill, nor even descending and splashing into the water near the end of The Boat Chute ride, but during the slow cruise through a dark tunnel before the clack, clack, clack and ascending for the fast fall and big splash.
On that wonderful ride I first hugged a girl, made it to first base, and even to second base. And I am not talking baseball, Sports Fans. So, yes, I can say as I am sure many others can that many of my fondest young memories took place at Lake Winnie. The roller-coaster was popular with the kids and adults, but teen couples preferred The Boat Chute. Go figure!
