“Hang In There”

The sun rising reminds us that this is a new day. One of the Gospel writers has Jesus saying, “Take no thought for the morrow for sufficient to the day is the evil thereof.” I take that to mean that each day has enough trouble of its own without trying to borrow from the future or dragging around baggage from the past. I take hope with each new sunrise of a brighter day ahead.

I am currently going through one of the most difficult situations that I have ever had to deal with in my life, yet I am determined not to allow myself to be shipwrecked by this storm. The most encouraging words I have heard lately are, “Hang in there.” They remind me of a quote I heard as a young man, “When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on.”

Hang in there, this too shall pass, and a bright sun will rise in the morning.

Your friend and fellow traveler,
