Hello Dolly, Good-bye Dolly

This sweet girl from East Tennessee who patterned her signature look, big hair and big other things, after the prettiest and most sought after woman in her small town. Dolly had a wonderful voice and a talent for writing songs, but as a good business woman she knew that you have to get people’s attention before they’ll ever listen to what you have to say or sing.

And, Hello Dolly, she certainly got our undivided attention and then she won us over with her voice, her songs, her movies, her philanthropic efforts to give back. No one ever begrudged her the millions she made for she made us all feel more worthwhile and she shared her gifts and her good fortune.

It has been hard for us to say, Good-bye Dolly to the sweet girl from East Tennessee who never let fame or fortune change who she was. May she forever inspire and encourage us all to stay sweet and share our gifts and good fortune with others as she did.
