The Dance
One of my favorite songs to sing karaoke style is The Dance written by Tony Arata and sung by Garth Brooks. I love the philosophy of the words and the haunting melody as the writer and singer substitute the word dance for the word love, echoing the theme of another poet long ago, Alfred Lord Tennyson, “It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.”
All loves and dances, are but brief episodes shared in time and space with warmth and emotion if we are lucky. The romantic in me chooses to believe that this is but one of many lives where if we are fortunate we find each other again and again risking it all to and for the chance to love and to dance.
Your friend and fellow traveler through time and space,
