Monsters In All Our Closets
Easily the bottom two-thirds of the emotions listed above we all struggle with from time to time and yet we continue to tell children that there are no monsters beneath their beds nor laying wait in their closets to pounce.
Anger is almost one third of the way up the ladder and still we are uncomfortable with it in others and even ourselves when we should be celebrating the climb from Fear/Grief/Desperation/Despair/Powerlessness described as chronic and debilitating Depression at the bottom of the emotional ladder.
Life is a journey and we are all climbing Jacob’s Ladder. Here’s hoping wherever you are on the ladder of emotions today that you find the strength to take another rung up and leave that ole monster depression under your bed and locked away in the closet.
