Sometimes The Opposite is Equally True
Sometimes our hearts are broken not to let light in so much as to let the light out. Some speculate that at the center of the Universe there is a big black hole. I think it perhaps equally true that at the center of everything there is light or as one poet put it, “We have this treasure in earthen vessels that our divine light might be revealed.”
We are broken vessels, cracked by the stresses and strains of life, but the cracks not only serve to let light in but also to allow the light within us to shine out. As children we used to sing, “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.”
Keep on shining.
