Yes, By God, You Can

Once when Jesus was trying to explain one of the greatest truths of life to a bunch of hard-headed and hard-hearted adults he called a child to him, stood the child in their midst, and said, “You must become as a little child to enter into the kingdom of heaven.” There have been quite literally thousands of sermons preached attempting to explain in what way we need to be like children to enter into the kingdom of heaven.

In another text often preached upon in the New Testament, the Apostle Paul seems to contradict Jesus words when he writes, “When I was a child I thought as a child, spoke as a child, and behaved as a child, but when I became a man, I put away childish things.”

What aspect of childhood was Jesus referring to when he implored us to become as little children again? I confess I have a problem with what most people think faith is, a blind adherence to the God Mumbo Jumbo, invented by bad men to fleece the flock, con the rubes, and keep the masses sedated making them more easy to manage.

That is not the faith of a child. Till they are taught the word “can’t” children naturally believe that all things are possible. I particularly like the child’s definition of the word impossible, spelled the same way, with an added apostrophe, space, and capitalizing the first letter – “I’m possible.”

Jesus accepted the truly impossible mission of telling us the truth that had been shrouded in centuries of lies and sadly still is – that the thing

we fear most we cannot, by God, yes, we can. Believe in your higher best self and no thing, nothing, is impossible.
