Welcome To The Encouraging Word

From time to time I get a notification that someone else has subscribed to this blog. I am always glad and grateful to get such news and hope they will find something worth their while here. I encourage them to scroll down through the now seven years of daily attempts at delivering good news and hopefully sharing an encouraging word or two.

My goal has always been to entertain, enlighten, but mostly to encourage. I mentioned in a recent blog that attempts to create a perfect world often have resulted in the most terrible and inhumane of crimes. I am not trying to make a perfect world and with John Lennon, I believe that we could all make this one a better one if we tried to “Imagine there’s no heaven. It’s easy if you try, no hell below us, above us only sky. Imagine all the people living for today.”

Neither religion, politics, nor science has been able to deliver that perfect world that they all have promised. But they have all three been used to kill those who stood in the way of their plans for a perfect world. But be encouraged for imperfection always leaves room for imagination, and a diversity of opinions and practices.

In this blog I have often cited the first intention of Ten Intentions For A Better World. It goes:

A better world always results not from forcing our opinions on others but from allowing them to have their own experiences, seeing life in all things and honoring it as if it were our own, for indeed it is.

Welcome to my world and thank you for allowing me to share yours.

Your friend and fellow traveler,

David White
