“The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year”
By the time the twenty-fifth day of December rolls around most folks on the part of the planet that I came of age on have heard Andy Williams croon many, many times the line that I borrow for the title of my blog today. As I boy I started ticking off the days till the next Christmas before the current one was even over – “Three hundred and sixty five days till Christmas and counting.”
Of all the myths (and I am being kind) the lies that surround the celebration of Christmas, last year many people bought into a new “Big Lie,” that the U.S. Presidential election was rigged, that somehow the person who got seven million more legitimate votes and won the Electoral College by an even wider margin than the 2016 vote still was somehow not entitled to be inaugurated as President. They stormed the Capital to try to stop it, but thankfully failed to do so.
I do not believe that Christmas lie nor most of the others either. But, as the song says, “I believe in you.” The Universe does too and wants this Christmas, this day, to be the most wonderful time of the year for each and all of us. A time that we celebrate one another and the truth that is ever able to set us free from all the lies that we have been told if we will but let it.
