The Bear went Over the Mountain & Mary Had a Little Lamb
Here are two more fun children’s song today. I am reminded of a Carpenter’s song from the nineteen seventies, the lyrics of which go:
“Sing, sing a song, make it happy to last your whole life long. Don’t worry that it’s not good enough for anyone else to hear, just sing, sing a song.”
Life is so much easier to face, good and bad, with a song in your heart, in your mind, and on your lips.
Like the Bear and Mary we will just have to see what tomorrow holds but as for today let us sing a happy song. There are songs for all occasions and as the blues club host says in the classic movie, Adventures In Baby Sitting, starring the lovely Elizabeth Shue, “No one gets outta here without singing the blues.”
The folksy Glenn Campbell sang in my youth, “Today while the blossoms still cling to the vine, I’ll taste your strawberries and I’ll drink your sweet wine. A million tomorrows will all pass away e’re I forget all the joy that is mine today.” Squeeze every delicious drop out of this joyous day and sing it loud and strong.
