Peter Rabbit, Where’s Peter?

Beatrix Potter created the wonderful children’s book character of rambunctious Peter Rabbit and others too have written many tales about his further exploits. Today’s touch and feel book is just such a one. Those of you who do not have a copy on hand will just have to imagine all the touchy feely experiences provided the readers of this little book.

One of the things I hoped my David Reads Children’s Books project would accomplish is the getting of the actual books into the hands of many more children. If you are concerned about the cost of these treasures I recommend that you scour the thrift stores and resale shops as I did where you will fine most if not all these books for pennies on the dollar of their cost new. I found the majority of them at Goodwill Stores in the States, all gently used, some with hand written notes just inside the covers from loving parents, grandparents, other family members, and friends and most soon out grown by the children for whom they were purchased.

Childhood is such a brief time but such an impressionable one in our lives. These wonderful stories and lessons, I believe, can make a loving and lasting impression. And I want to do my small part in creating a better brighter world. How about you? Wouldn’t you too like to Pay It Forward? I think that reading a good book to a child is one of many wonderful ways to do just that.

Your friend and fellow traveler,

David White
