What Is The Proper Length Of A Blog?

It is, to me, the exact length of an encouraging word. Some times a few choice words seem to satisfy and at other times it can be difficult to find a place to conclude. We have all had conversations like that where one or both of the participants just did not want it to end. That is a “love connection” and they do not ever end and are “eternal moments” they remind us that time and space are the illusion and that love is our eternal reality. And, yes, I know ego and this construct make some pretty convincing arguments to the otherwise but some especially wise and more often incredibly simple-minded folk like myself have discovered “relativity” and have figured out who and what is really real.

Albert Einstein is the former and the made up character Forest Gump is the latter. We are all quite “related” to both and that is okay for it is all relative. Each morning after my shower, I apply three squirts of my favorite cologne, Boss Hugo Boss, to that, in my case, indented spot at the center of my chest. Doctors told me long ago that the dent signifies a weak pectis muscle but I choose to believe instead that an angel touched me there before I was born into this life as a sign and reminder to me to always lead with my heart. Anyway, as I spray that cool and wonderfully smelling cologne there I look into my eyes in the mirror and say, “I love you, Mama. I love you, Daddy. I love you, Baby. That covers all the bases, for I believe there is no relationship, no problem, no fear, no challenge but that loves is the answer, the solution. Even pollution, for if we love the people pursuing and doing most of it, they are much more likely to stop doing it, for greed, the primary root cause, is as all our problems due to a lack of love. And I know we have all been taught to believe in “good guys and bad guys.” But I think the true true was expressed quite simply in a rock song, “There ain’t no good guys. There ain’t no bad guys. There’s only you and me, and we just disagree.”

But we can agree on this. We are not here to destroy the planet and ourselves in the process for a buck. If we really believe that we are all out of luck. We are here to love and to be loved. I happen to believe that no matter how unlovely or unlovable that anyone including ourself acts that no one, no thing, is truly unloveable. To paraphrase a verse Christians are especially fond of: For God so loved the world that He/She gave the Beloved Child to never perish but live evermore. To me, my rendering is a more astute and correct one or as Whitney Houston sang, “Everybody’s looking for a hero. I never found anyone to fulfill my need, till I learned to depend on me.” We are individually and collectively that hero, and a everyone of us, a reflection of the One, and love has a name. It is He, She, We -Us. I have quoted the Pogo cartoon many times saying something like: We have discovered the enemy and it is us. But the greater truth is there is no enemy, no “good guy, bad guy” only us. The beginning and end, the do all and be all, Love always and evermore.

Evermore.

That is the one word answer to what is the proper length and duration of an encouraging word blog – evermore.

Your friend and fellow traveler,

David White
