Thinking About A Change
I am believer in change. Some of you who seem to have a big problem with change might think that strange of me. I do not for one moment mind being thought a bit strange. To me much of what I have been taught to believe seems strange to me today. I do not fault my parents or teachers. The fault if there is any goes way back to that little tin god that man created because he did not want to bow to his higher self but rather some illusion of a self far less. I think the creation story though perhaps a bit garbled, being passed on word of mouth for many many years before Moses put his version of the story down for us, still has some important things to say. And yes I know the fundamentalist line is that “All scripture was inspired by God and holy men spake as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” And if you want to believe that makes the words infallible I won’t argue with you, just to say not everyone does and there is at least some evidence that much of what is in the Bible existed in one form or another around the world long before Moses took up his pen, i.e. the creation story, the flood, and many of the proverbs and as well as many of the New Testament ideas attributed to Jesus and writers of the New Testament. All the Holy Books of all the great faiths say pretty much the same thing, the Golden Rule. But for all the good and loving things they teach there is more than enough ego still involved in most of these writings to ruin and spoil them for many in one way or another.
But back to change, yesterday for my blog picture I posted the quote, “You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.” We are creatures of habit, of ritual, and I do not deny the importance of these. I and the quote am only suggesting that if we really want to change our life we must change some little something in our daily routine. I do believe that thoughts become things but to show that we really mean business we need to add baby steps to our dream, our desires, just to show the Universe that we are serious about what we want to happen in our lives. The definition of insanity someone has said is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
It does not take a big change to change the course of a river or of a life. But a baby step in the direction you want to take can set all the wheels of the Universe in motion bringing about the desires of your heart. I have written at length in other blogs about the meaning I saw in a verse, “Delight thyself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
We should always be thinking about a change and not changing something about somebody else. Even wishing to, sends them the wrong message, that we are not happy with them just the way they are. The only person we can and have a right to change is ourselves and it is as easy as thinking a new thought and taking one little baby step in a new direction.
Is it time for a change? That is all up to you.
