What Am I Trying To Do Here?

Periodically over the last little over two and a half years that the http://www.theencouragingword.co blog has been in existence I have tried to tell my readers just what I am trying to accomplish. I started out trying to build a “platform” a readership so that someday I could submit a book to a publisher with a marketing plan saying that I had over ten thousand readers following my daily blog that might be interested in buying my book. But early on I discovered that this writing to me need never be a commercial venture. You see not only would I do this for free, and do, I would, and I do, work to pay for the privilege. Why do I write -because I believe I have something to share and I want to share it.

Several weeks ago I saw the latest version of A Star Is Born. Though many of you my age and older remember fondly the Barbra Streisand, Kris Kristofferson 1976 Version or the Judy Garland, James Mason 1954 version. There was also a 1937 film starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. The 2018 film stars Lady GaGa and Bradley Cooper and I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful it was. I confess that I cried several times which is to me a good sign it was a movie that touched me deeply. The best line in the whole movie was Bradley Cooper’s character’s explanation of why the stage shy Lady Ga Ga character had to perform – because we all have something to say and it is our duty to find the best stage, platform, to share what we have to say to as great an audience as possible. If we can make a living or get rich at that fine but share it we must even if it costs us everything. To fail to do so is to fail at the most important task we have to do. Or so says I, Who have late in this adventure discovered not only Who And Whose I am, but my words and my voice.

That friends is why I post daily this blog and a Daily Mockingbird Song giving each and all the very best performance daily that I can.

Your friend and fellow traveler,

David White
