Letting Go, Letting God

When I saw this great quote I knew that I would have no trouble writing some encouraging words to go with it. Everything we come upon or that comes to us in this life has only the power to affect us that we give it. As the quote goes we can allow trouble or even success to define us, confine us, refine us, out shine us or we can choose to move on and leave it behind us. The Apostle Paul and I agree on this point if not all points, “This thing I do, forgetting the things that are past, I press on to the upward call.” Always higher and better should be our aspiration. No matter how good yesterday was today can be better if we let it. And no matter how bad yesterday was, I repeat, today can be better if we let it.

So who then can separate us from happiness, wholeness, from the sure and certain knowledge that we are children of the Universe and as such inheritors of all things bright and beautiful? Shall tribulation, trials, powers, principalities, indeed no thing for no created thing shall be able to separate us from what is rightfully ours. So who is the culprit delaying the process, only “Little ole me or you.” We are the only responsible party in the process that can throw a monkey wrench in the works. I have heard it expressed, “Like throwing away happiness with both hands.” But we do not have to believe Ego’s “Unworthy tune.” for we are worthy, made worthy by virtue not of a sacrifice, as noble as that might sound, but by birthright as children of the Universe. The Fall was an illusion created by a snake in the grass I like to call Ego just to confuse us and cause us to doubt Who and Whose we truly are. The message of all the prophets, oracles, seers, and priests, even Jesus, Buddha, Mohamed, and many, many others, though often garbled and lost in translation, is “You are my child, all that I am and all that I have, is yours. It always has been and always will be. You need hold on to nothing for it is all yours.” Now that the worthiness, ownership, and responsibility questions have been asked and answered don’t you think it is high time we all just let go, and let God?
