The Circle Of Life Or Heart Of Life
“There is far too much to take in here, more to do than can every be done.” And likewise there is more to be writ and sung about than can ever be as well. It amazes me how many more books and songs there are available today, more than anyone could read or listen to in one or even many life times and yet new books and songs are coming out every day all vying for our attention. Life goes on.
And what is life as the old joke goes: “What is life? It is a magazine. How much does it cost? Two bucks. That’s too much. That’s life.” Too much, indeed, but that is life, full to overflowing, abundant and yet too many minds are trapped by thoughts of limits, of lack, of shortage. I find it amazing that on a sphere more than three fifths water we can still believe there is a water shortage but it is just as silly to sit in the corner and weep over being rejected by one when there are billions of hearts created for but one purpose – to live, to love, and to be loved.
If there is any enemy of our souls it is our own self destructive ego. But how do we combat this ego? Do we go to war? Wars never bring peace but death and destruction with only brief armistices for the seeming defeated to lick their wounds, seethe with thoughts of revenge, and await the opportunity to resume hostilities. Battles are won not by frontal attacks but by out maneuvering the enemy, cutting off his supply lines. Ego feeds on our fear of lack, hunger, deprivation, be that food, water, or love. It is all illusion – like the song of my youth says, “Love is all around me. It’s everywhere I go… come on and let it show.”
Ego’s debilitating story of a dire future or present, of want, lack, and shortage is but as it’s creator only an illusion. Illusions and “False News” can only be melted away like Dorothy’s wicked witch of the north by the reality that there is no shortage of love, food, or water but as one of my favorite mantras says:
“I am so grateful that everything that I could ever want or need is already mine and coming to me at just the right time and in just the right way from my loving and infinite source.”
Or as the two sided heart shaped talisman that I carry in my pocket says so succinctly, “Thank you for this day, Spirit – I am Holy, I am Whole.” And so are each of us my friends, every day in every way. Accept no substitutes and entertain no more of ego’s lies.
Your friend and fellow traveler,
