Why Do We Stay Where We Do Not Feel Wanted?
The title question begs others like:
Why do we want what we cannot or should not have?
Why do we surrender control of our lives and happiness to other people or to worse, things like memories?
I have been told often in notes from my good friend, Mike Dooley, author of Notes From The Universe, not to mess with, “the cursed hows” but to concentrate on the what’s and why’s. The two are far more practical and helpful while the how’s are so much more “Rabbit Holey.” I did write “Holey” not “Holy” so even though this song says. “Don’t ask why” I still will. And today I wrote a poem just for you, well for me too.

Some Things We Should Let Go Of
But just suppose memories so hurtful
Were never meant or intended to last
But fade forever never to remember
Like pictures faded beyond recognition
Indiscernible with a magnifying glass.
Why do we still harp on and hold on to
Those painful memories best let go
Things past their due date can spoil
What was, is, and all we’ll ever know.
When we can just let go the hurt
What is meant to stay just does
We, no longer plagued by regrets
Glad for what is, the best that was.
Your friend and fellow traveler,
