A Million Dreams
“Cause every night I lie in bed
The brightest colors fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the world I see
A million dreams is all it’s gonna take
Oh, a million dreams for the world
We’re gonna make.”
Even before I began posting links to my mockingbird versions of songs from the movie, The Greatest Showman, I already quoted the first two verses of this endearing song. Over three years ago now when I first started this daily blog I hoped that I would live long enough to write 10,000 blogs. Whether I do that or not I fully intend to see a million dreams come true. Fact is I probably already have and am as my dad’s old joke went “Working on my second million” he said because he had given up on the first but not me for as another lovely song says, if my wish (or dream) was granted it would be for One More Day and having that at the end of yet another wonderful day with you “it would leave me wishing still for One More Day, with you.”
Our finest, highest, best dreams are always a shared vision. Young Phineas Taylor Barnum (P.T. for short) was a very lucky boy and later man to have found someone willing to “follow that dream.” That is the title to one of my most favorite Elvis movies too.
We make our dreams come true by believing in them enough to take even the tiniest step in their direction trusting the Universe to bring them to pass in the most remarkable and unexpected ways. Concerning ourselves with the “cursed how’s” only stresses us and delays our dreams coming true as quickly as they might. Look back on your life and your own experiences will prove this to be true.
Again: (1) Dream, (2) Believe, (3) Take a small step in the right direction on faith, and the most important step of all (4) Trust the Universe to give you your heart’s desire, your dream, at the correct time and in the most thrilling, and fulfilling way.
