An Audacious But Honest Claim
It is perhaps an Audacious but honest claim to call myself a writer, speaker, singer/songwriter teacher. And whether, as I believe, my Higher Self planned this role for me a long time ago, or whether I am just making up my lines and scenes and winging it as I go along it is a role that I was made for me and I for it. Very likely, it is to me, that if, as I suspect, I have led previous lives and played other roles, they were all in preparation to play this one. And indeed this one is but preparing to play the next. But I get ahead of myself.
Why indeed are we here but to to live out some dream or desire of the Divine, who we are as surely as was Jesus, Buddha, Mahomet, or all the noted teachers of the past. We are as they were, children of the Universe. And we are here to act out and in this continuing passion play. How sad so many people feel like puppets and do not realize they have been given such great latitude to tailor their parts as they please. That is one of the great advantages to being so intimately related to the Author – we get to be co-author of our story – His (Her) Story. Whether we do well or not there is always a bigger better part for us to play, another plus of divine nepotism.
I have been through perhaps countless life times, watching, learning, for sure more than I remember. I barely remember all of this one. I love the movie line that I just saw recently: “Do you believe in de ja vu? Didn’t you just say that.” It often seems like we are reliving a portion of a past life.
Taking on such an important role is daunting for I know that I do not just write, speak, sing and teach for myself alone but for all the lives that I have lived and hope to and I write for you? The first of the Ten Intentions For A Better World says: “…I see life in all things and honor it as if it were my own.” Every time I read that I add silently and sometimes out loud, “For so it is.” In a very real and larger sense as the poet has said, “Each man’s death diminishes me for I am a part of mankind.” I like to put that more positively – Each person’s life increases mine for we are all a part of the One great mind.
