Blues Clues To Who We Are

It is a theme that those of us, who are just beginning to know Who and Whose we are, find so fascinating to share. Perhaps those older and more established souls, who understand how crazy this might sound to the many who are still struggling and who still believe that they are frail, powerless, and weaker beings in a harsh unloving world, might not be so quick to share this information for fear of being misunderstood. But hey, I wish someone could have gotten through to me when I was younger because I am having such a ball now. I mean there have been clues all along as to our secret identity. I am thinking of the words to a particular song, “I’m running and I can’t slow down. Ain’t nothing gonna break my stride. Ain’t nothing gonna slow me down. Oh no, I’ve got to keep on running.” And then there’s that Bible verse about what is in us being greater than what is in the world and our being more than conquerors. But it all gets so mixed up and confused by egos, ours and others, who find our true identity just too hard to believe.

You and I are children of the Universe and as such like the poem Desiderata says, “We have a right to be here.” Indeed as the book of Esther says, “What think you, that you were not born into the kingdom for such a time as this.” This is our time, our place, and we came for a purpose mainly to just have fun figuring out who and whose we really are all over again. It is meant to be a great game and a fun one. So much fun in fact, like the water slides and roller coasters of my youth, as soon one fantastic ride ends we run to get back in line for another ride. Some think it too bad they cannot take memories of previous rides with them into each new ride. But that would spoil the fun and the real purpose of the game, the repeat ride. A big part of the appeal is that it always seems new, discovering as if for the first time, who is the real you.

This life is not to improve, to perfect, or to grow as we so often think. Fact is the real you is already grown, fully improved, and perfected. All we can really do is uncover the magnificent and eternal being that we already are and have always been. We are a very real part of who God always wanted to be. Blasphemy, you say, far from it, as my Note From The Universe this morning reads, “David, I have always wanted to be you. Everybody did. I had to pull a few strings.” Are you beginning to get a glimpse of Who and Whose we really are?

When we all awake, my friends, to who we truly are we are going to have so much fun with it. Are we having fun yet?

Your friend and fellow traveler,
David White
