A Most Important Key To Happiness 

Having already broken the taboo to avoid talking or writing about politics or religion, I might as well give the third taboo a go and write about what I believe to be one of the most important keys to happiness for humans – sex.

Despite the efforts of some fundamentalist religions and conservative politicians to make us feel ashamed, fearful, and guilty regarding our most basic desires and inclinations, sex,  like that little flower that makes it’s way up through thick concrete to bloom in the sunlight, can brings hope, beauty, happiness, and inspiration. 

In George Orwell’s dystopian political novel 1984, Big Brother is pictured the way many have been taught to think of our loving and infinite source as always watching to make sure anything pleasurable or fun is immediately condemned and those energies redirected to serve the greater good of the collective. What most serves the greater good of the Universe, ourselves, and everyone everywhere is the love that true intimacy inspires in even the coldest, hardest, and even deeply discouraged hearts.

Like that determined little flower, sex will find the tiniest crack in the strongest, thickest, and most polished armor. Don’t believe me, just as Lance and Jenny from Camelot or Melanie with her new roller skates looking for a key, one of the most important keys to happiness, in my opinion.
