Socialism
Many think Socialism is synonymous with Communism. It is not and by the way even early Christians per the Book of Acts tried communism, having all things in common. It did not work for it did not allow for “human nature” which is typified by greed, hunger for power, and oneupmanship. Even democracy or capitalism without a strong Constitution containing checks and balances, laws and regulations, that guarantee both a level playing field and that minority rights are not trampled soon turn into oligarchies where the rich and powerful rule rough shod over all.
The early founders of this 250 year old experiment in government of the people, by the people, and for the people said, “We have given you a democratic republic if you can keep it.” Today’s picture quote from the man who was President of the United States when I first began this adventure in time and space was well know for speaking plainly. Another of my favorite Harry Truman quotes is: “Any man who gets rich in politics is a crook.”
There is a truism about solving crimes that goes, “Follow the money.” There is a New Testament verse that says pretty much the same thing: “The love of money is the root of all evil.” Not money itself, but the love or rather unbridled lust for it.
The great sin or crime of our time fiscal conservatives might say is our nation’s almost 200 trillion dollar debt that our children will have to pay. I think it is that we the people have elected people who have allowed greedy corporations to loot our treasury, pollute our environment, turn a nation who once feed the world into a country that can afford to borrow and spend a trillion dollars on a senseless war while not being able to take care of it’s own hungry children and seniors let alone those of the world as we once graciously did.
The Great Big Beautiful Bill with its tax cuts for the rich has not made America Great Again, yet only proved once again who the true “welfare queens” are. In the movie based on the murder mystery board game Clue is the line, “Communism is just a red herring.” It always was a false flag as is the term Socialism. Unchecked Capitalism is a mad rush to see who can get the biggest piece of the pie not caring who goes hungry. A healthy dose of socialism helps to vaccinates us against the greed and the first come first served tendencies of unchecked human nature.
