 Man Cave, Woman Wave

In all aspects of life there are cycles, the ebb and flow, the ups and downs, the heat and the cold the light and the dark. The emotional lived of both men and women are cyclical as well. We may show our emotions differently and often act like we are from different planets, but there is a rhyme and reason to our emotions as there is to planetary movements.

Women are more inclined to want to talk about their feelings and men more inclined to retire to the solitude of their cave to deal with their feelings. Even Superman has his Fortress of Solitude. And there is a reason that the ever changing sea is referred to sailors as ‘She.”

Women’s emotions are like a wave, a rising swell to an exhilarating peak, followed by a crashing and churning to the depths. Men according to author John Gray are like rubber band they pull away and stretch to their max before springing back.

This dance, this ritual, of women with their forever rising and crashing waves and men retiring to and returning from their caves is what makes relationships so hard to understand and maintain.

Long Live the Difference as the French say.
