War Profiteers

My war, the War in Vietnam, produced more millionaires in the U.S. than there had ever been before. It like the American War Between the States was also called a civil war, north against the south. The term civil war is an oxymoron.

The dictionary defines oxymoron:

The terms civil and war are diametrically opposed and civil war is an oxymoron as is the term military intelligence. The military is a blunt instrument meant to be used only in dire emergencies as in defending freedom and democracy. The only people who want war are those who wish to distract or to enrich themselves at the expense of the poor.

I recall a song quite popular during the Vietnam War: “War, good God, y’all what is it good for? Absolutely nothing! Say it again, Y’all!” Nothing that is but making the rich richer and the poor not only poorer, but their families bereaved as well.

The old saying goes, “All’s well that ends well.” War never ever ends well for anyone, but the rich who profit from it and whose son’s can get a fake doctor’s slip to avoid serving, as our draft dodging Billionaire commander-in-Chief knows all too well.
