Duped By A Con Man
The German people were fooled by a man who promised to make Germany great again. He used a political ploy that is still used today of focusing the blame for all our problems on a marginalized minority.

The question in the parable of the “Barn Loser” goes like this, “What shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world and lose his soul?” Elsewhere in the New Testament the root cause of all evil is described in four words as The Love of Money. Not money, but the love of money, not profit, but the insatiable love of profit at the risk of repeating myself, “Sound Familiar?”
I do not hate our current Con Man – In Chief. I do not even hate Adolf Hitler. I actually feel sorry for them and the millions who followed and continue to follow their example as well as the millions more who have suffered and continue to suffer because of the hate they have fostered upon the world.
If The Love of Money is the root of all evil what then is the root of The Love of Money, but the lack of love for ourselves and others. Herein lies, I think the real culprit that would have us all behave as con-men. One of my favorite quotes is from long time CBS journalist Eric Sevareid, “Most of our problems are caused by our solutions.”
One of my favorite writers, Louise Hay, wrote that it sounds counterintuitive, but that all our problems stem from not loving ourselves enough. Neither money nor power, neither a big ball room nor bigger barn, can fill that black whole in a heart that does not love itself enough.
The con-man would distract our attention away from the real issues. Hate does not make us great nor our country it only proves that we do not love ourselves and are therefore incapable of loving others as well.
A line from an A-Team member comes to mind, “I pity the fool…”
