My Resting Place

Once during a very stressful and turbulent time in my life my dad gave me some great advice. He said, “Son, you need to find your resting place.” My dad’s resting place was hunting in the woods, on a bank or in a boat fishing. More than the game or fish was the quiet he found out doors in nature.

I am again at my resting place I call The Hundred Acre Wood in the East Texas Pine Woods just south of Bon Wier, Texas. It is well worth the almost six drive from Houston, round trip, just to get to spend a few hours here.

I hope each of you have found your own special resting place where you can in my dear departed dad’s words, “Hear yourself think.”

Your friend and fellow traveler,

David James White
