Wrapping Up 2024

In two more days the year 2024 will be but one more for the history books. Already there are tributes being aired naming the celebrities we lost in 2024 and news programs about the highlights of the past year.

The question I have to ask, first and foremost, is “What have we learned?” I believe that we really have only two options in life: “To win some or to learn some.” Therefore especially when we feel we have lost or think ourselves lost that we should look for the lesson.

In the last several days I have added some phrases to my growing daily mantra. You can tell a lot by one’s self talk what life lessons they are learning or at least hoping to learn. I blogged already about adding The Serenity Prayer to my daily self-talk :

And my brother Robert’s reply to my sharing my son’s and my dream of the JDJWW Legacy Ranch:

“Name it. Frame it. Claim it.”

After that I have added some New Testament words that say pretty much the same thing in what is referred to as the A.S.K. Formula of getting what you want:

ASK whatsoever you will, believing, and you shall receive.

SEEK and you shall find.

KNOCK and it shall be opened to you.

It has been a good year, full of many victories and also many lessons. My wish for each and all as we approach the end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025 is that we build on the lessons that we have learned and make the most of the days ahead. Happy New Year, Pilgrims!
