Waiting For Daybreak

The old adage goes it is always darkest before the dawn. And I have often noticed that this time of year especially that the temperature seems to also dip a bit at day break just before the sun comes up to brighten and warm everything including our hearts.

In one of my favorite movies City of Angels, released in 1998, the angels who are charged with watching over us like to gather each morning to celebrate each new sunrise. Unlike us they do not take for granted the miracle and majesty of that morning moment when the sun peeks over the horizon.

The darkness is passing, the light is dawning and soon the sun will be shining on our pathway. “This is the day that the Lord and I have made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
