Stay Brave, Stay Strong, Stay Smart

I love today’s picture quote from Winnie the Pooh, who is no wise Jedi master like Yoda, but sometimes the deepest wisdom is rooted in common intuition and optimism. Pooh knows he is never alone nor is little Piglet. Together with our highest, best, bravest, strongest self we are more than conquerors.

That “more than conquerors” comes from the New Testament writings of The Apostle Paul. I heard a preacher once try to explain what that phrase really means. He said it was like fighting three guys and whipping four.

The greatest force in the Universe is not physical strength but love. One of my favorite Old Testament verses says, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord.” Who is the Lord of glory? Is He/She an angry, vengeful, god with a hair trigger ready to drown or burn it all up at a moment’s notice or rather, a long suffering and loving parent ever striving to woo and win his/her erring child and guide them back home? You decide for yourself, but know this in the end, till you find him/her in the mirror you’ve got a long way to go.
