From Now On

One of Jesus best parables is the story of the prodigal son. The dictionary defines prodigal as:

In the story, a young man begs his father to give him his share of the inheritance early and leaves home to waste it away on riotous living. The young man goes through his fortune in record time and finds himself friendless, homeless, and destitute. The only work he can find is feeding pigs and he even attempts to fill his empty stomach on the husks with which he feeds the pigs.

In the story the wayward son finally comes to himself and says, “My father is a good man so I will go home and ask if I can be one of his hired servants.” Today’s song is about another man who allowed himself to be blinded by the city lights and the company of false friends attracted to his money and influence only. The rich man has many false friends and the poor man has few but true.

From Now On and Come Back Home are words that cannot be repeated too often for they are true friends.
