Don’t Know Why

Figuring out even our own motivations, let alone others, and learning to live entirely without regrets is something many of us find difficult. Suffice it to say that to win some or to learn some are the only two options and answers that are available to us.

Today’s song says “I don’t know why” over and over again. I confess that seventy-three years has made me even less sure of the things I once thought I knew so very well. I know longer believe the Bible admonition that, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” What I do believe is quite similar though, “The admission of ignorance is the beginning of wisdom.”

It is very difficult to learn anything if one thinks that they have everything figured out. Though I believe that the answers to all life’s question are within us, they are still best accessed by first admitting that of the many things we do not know is the motivation of our own heart. Our higher self knows all, even the intentions of the heart.

All the answers to the Why questions that we have been asking since we were two year olds are available to us even those about why we do the things we do and those haunting regrets that we seem to be forever circling around.
