Baby’s Gone

Baby’s Gone is one of those tears in my beer sad country love songs. The old year we named 2023 is gone and a new one 2024 is just beginning. It will hold new trials and problems to figure out for sure, yet I believe the adage, “Come grow old with me, the best is yet to be.” We will undoubtedly if we survive another three hundred and sixty five days have to wave fair well to some of those with whom we have shared this journey. Yet others will join us in this adventure of a lifetime.

As I write this, rain is falling and the light of a new day is dawning. Sad country songs serve their purpose. They allow us to grieve our losses and lick our wounds, but they are not meant to be the theme songs of our lives. Happier more encouraging melodies and lyrics are meant to keep us on track.

As my beloved wife has taught me, life is not all about the destination, it is mostly about enjoying the journey. Happy New Year, Pilgrims.
