Paul Bunyan

Five years ago I had a six month work assignment in Bemidji, Minnesota, home town of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox, pictured above in a city park on Lake Bemidji, headwaters of the Mississippi River. It was a wonderful opportunity to see the land of many lakes.

Paul Bunyan was a lumberjack whose exploits were legendary indeed. His were tall tales of the highest order. Just the kind of stories to get a child’s imagination going.
