“Fairytales Can Come True…”
“It can happen to you if you’re young at heart” or so the song says. But, how does one stay young at heart? Hearts get broken and disappointments abound, but the young of heart are resilient and bounce back quickly ever ready and willing to love again.
The realist knows that every relationship ultimately ends in tears, but the optimist sees the silver lining in even the darkest clouds. The poet has said, “It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.”
There is a little of the romantic in all of us who dream our kiss is the magic one that can wake the sleeping princess or prince and help make theirs and our own dreams come true. My loving and lovely wife of thirty-three years pointed out a Christmas sweater yesterday that said, “Let The Magic Begin.” The smile on her lips and in her eyes said, “Hey, I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream.”
