When railing against the night and continually complaining about all the misfortunes that befall us fails to satisfy we might as the title of today’s book by famous author James Patterson says, Give Thank You A Try.

Rhonda Byrnes new book, The Greatest Secret, and her first one, The Secret, are about the most widely known secret ever known that it is an attitude of gratitude more than anything else that unlocks the treasure house of life.

When Paradise in the Bible creation story started to fall apart it was at ego’s insistence, that ole serpent in the grass, that the pair contemplating sharing the withheld forbidden fruit really had a lot of grievances. In short order the first liar had Adam and his Eve doubting their relationship to their Creator and even to each other. Ego knows no relationships but adversarial and hostile. He/she always doubts and questions the motives of others. Why his/her most popular nickname, Satan, stems from a proclivity to be “accuser of the brethren.”

The founding fathers enumerated in the U.S. Constitution that we are endowed as Adam and Eve were by our Creator with certain inalienable rights among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Back to the secret that is no secret again, the secret to a happy, full, and complete life is being grateful for the good things in our lives and to give far and away the most thought always to what we want and to spend the least if anytime at all thinking or speaking about what we do not want.

May the words of our mouths and the thoughts of our hearts bring to us the happiness and peace our souls seek during this season and all throughout the years of our travels here.
