One Reason Many People Are Not Happy
I have pointed out several times in different blogs that “blessed” means “happy.” So those people who wish us a “blessed” day are really just wishing us a happy day. The familiar saying goes, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” I have a feeling many sad people doubt the logic of that saying, believing that receiving something that they think they are missing would make them happy. I keep reminding myself daily that, “I am Holy. I am Whole.” (The “Holy” reminding me of Who and Whose I am and the “Whole” reminding me that everything that I could ever want or need is already mine and coming to me at just the right time and in just the right way from my loving and infinite source.) Therefore I should always be happy no matter what is happening around me. “Fine and Dandy” is my response to anyone who ever asks, “How are you doing?”
“I always have enough to spare and enough to share.” Wanna be happy for the rest of your life? And, no, Trini Lopez you do not have to make an ugly woman your wife to be happy, just give and not till it hurts, but till it feels good. And don’t tell me we have nothing to give. We can give of ourselves, for we have gifts that we have yet to explore and will not till we decide to give life all that we’ve got. What or who are we saving it for anyway. It is like that last great line from the song, “The Love of God” by George Beverly Shea. It goes, “Out there beyond the horizon, there’s more, there’s more.”
Let us give this life all we’ve got. Someone has said, “We only get out of anything what we put in.” Time to put up or shut up. Don’t pout, it is time to turn up the heat and really put out. I am having just too much fun with this. Have yourself a Merry Little Xmas and a “blessed (happy) day.
